The Four Key Steps in Tea Production

From harvest to packaging, the production of Chinese tea combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to ensure high-quality results. We follow strict international food safety standards at every stage, paying close attention to detail — all to deliver natural, healthy, and authentic tea experiences to customers around the world.

Raw Material Harvesting

Step 1: Raw Material Harvesting

Fresh buds and young leaves are handpicked from premium tea gardens. The timing of the harvest varies by tea type to ensure optimal freshness and quality.

  • Select harvesting standards according to the tea type
  • Avoid damaged or matured leaves for premium grades
  • The ideal harvesting time is from early morning (after the dew dries) until before noon.
Withering

Step 2: Withering

Freshly picked leaves are spread out in a controlled environment to reduce moisture content, enhance aroma, and prepare them for further processing.

  • Temperature and humidity must be strictly controlled.
  • The withering time typically ranges from 6 to 24 hours, depending on the type of tea.
  • Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf deterioration.
Fermentation / Processing

Step 3: Fermentation / Processing

Depending on the tea type, processes such as fermentation (for black tea), oxidation, steaming (for green tea), or rolling are applied to shape flavor, color, and texture.

  • Black tea requires full fermentation, while green tea uses high-temperature fixing to stop oxidation.
  • The pressure applied during rolling affects the strength of the tea infusion and the release of aroma.
  • The entire process is carefully controlled by experienced tea masters.
Drying & Packaging

Step 4: Drying & Packaging

Tea leaves are gently dried to remove excess moisture, ensuring long-term stability. They are then sealed in moisture-proof packaging for safe storage and transportation.

  • The drying temperature should not be too high to avoid damaging the aromatic compounds.
  • Packaging materials meet food-grade safety standards.
  • Storage conditions must remain dry, dark, and free of odors.
